Grand Central Bakery has recalled 517 loaves of potato sourdough bread sold across the Seattle and Tacoma areas after a customer found a pallet nail baked inside a loaf. The bread was distributed on a single day, August 10, to grocery stores, wholesalers, select restaurants, and four company cafes.
No injuries or illnesses have been reported. The recall notice posted by the FDA states that the action was initiated after a pallet nail was discovered in a loaf "of Potato Sourdough Bread," and the bakery has said the problem traces to one batch of dough mixed that morning.
