For 15 years, a woman in the Philippines lived with a strange pattern. Every time she had a baby, both of her armpits swelled into soft lumps. Then, once she stopped breastfeeding, the swelling faded on its own. When dermatologists finally examined her during her fourth round of breastfeeding, pressing on the lumps brought out milky fluid through her hair follicles.
Doctors at the Philippine General Hospital of the University of the Philippines in Manila described her case in JAAD Case Reports, a dermatology journal. The 35-year-old had been pregnant four times and had four children. Her diagnosis was ectopic breast tissue: working breast glands in both armpits, with no nipple attached.
