A-Leagues commissioner Garcia departs, Conroy steps up

Stephen Conroy has been named Australian Professional Leagues (APL) executive chairman and charged with strengthening the struggling A-Leagues after commissioner Nick Garcia's shock mid-season exit.

Garcia's departure was confirmed on Thursday, with APL chair and former Labor senator Conroy announced in his new role.
