A Jaguars employee was accused of stealing millions from the team and fans all had the same joke

Look, an employee embezzling tens of millions of dollars from an NFL franchise is no laughing matter. Unless it’s the Jacksonville Jaguars, it turns out.

So when news broke that a former Jaguars employee — a staffer on the financial side of things and not anyone on the football side of things — had been accused of stealing more than $22 million from the team, Twitter lit up in the replies. For some teams, the headline of someone stealing millions from a team would bring jokes referencing one famously bad signing. Think Kenny Golladay getting a $72 million contract for 43 catches as a New York Giant or Mike Glennon’s $45 million contract for four games as a Chicago Bear.

But this is Jacksonville, which meant there was no shortage of players AND coaches about whom fans and analysts could get their jokes off about stealing from the team.

Urban Meyer? The most obvious target. Blake Bortles? Oh, you’d better believe he’s in there. Nick Foles gets a shout, of course. Even Allen Hurts is out here catching strays.
