A holiday to Malta or Lanzarote is cheaper than a night in Dublin to see Bruce Springsteen

As many music fans prepare to fork out hundreds of euro for some big upcoming concerts in Dublin including Justin Bieber and Bruce Springsteen, we decided to see what else you could spend your money on.

Pop star Bieber will take to the stage at Dublin’s 3Arena on February 28, 2023, while Springsteen and The E Street Band will be performing in the RDS Arena in Dublin on May 5 and 7, 2023

For Justin Bieber fans hoping to get tickets to his gig in the 3Arena next February, they'll have to fork out between €86 and €126 for their seated ticket, or €99 for a standing ticket.

Meanwhile, Springsteen fans hoping to attend his two gigs in the RDS next May will have to pay between €96 and €156 for seated tickets while a general admission standing ticket is a whopping €131.

Irish fans have hit out at the 'disgraceful' concert ticket prices. For two concert tickets it would cost €262 for Bruce Springsteen and €252 or two Justin Bieber tickets.

So concert-goers are looking at a total cost of around €600 or €700 for the tickets, transportation, and a hotel room in Dublin city for the night of the concert.

A double bedroom at the Grand Canal Hotel close to the RDS for two people costs €300/350, while public transportation to and from the gig comes in at between €20 and €50 depending on the mode of transport.

Dublin Live looked into the price for a five day holiday from Dublin to Malta and Dublin to Lanzarote this summer to compare the prices.

A round-trip flight for two people from Dublin Airport to Malta on July 20 via Ryanair costs €310 in economy, while a stay at the St Julian's Bay Hotel in the picturesque St Julian's Bay will cost you €75 a night or €290 for five nights.

A round-trip flight for two people from Dublin Airport to Lanzarote on the same day via Aer Lingus costs €218 (economy) and a stay at the lovely Aparthotel Costa Volcan & Spa for five nights costs €335.

This gives a grand total of €600 for Malta and €553 for a holiday to Lanzarote.

So 4 hours of Bruce Springsteen songs or 5 days of sun, sea and sand? We know what we would choose!
