A giant bucket hat has turned up in the centre of Swansea

As the days to the 2022 World Cup count down, a huge red and green bucket hat landed in Swansea city centre.

The iconic bucket hat, which has become a symbol of football culture in Wales, was also spotted in the centre of Cardiff earlier this month in red, green and yellow colours.

Now it's Swansea's turn - with the giant replica appearing in the fountain in Castle Square with A sign under the huge hat reads "Cymru on Top of the World! Ein Cymru. Ein wal goch. Our Wales. Our red wall. Together, we are stronger. Diolch for your support."

Swansea will also be cheering on the boys in red from the massive Fan Park, which will be held in Singleton Park. A number of matches will be screened in a heated Big Top with food, drink and live music. You can read more about that here and you can read more stories about Swansea here.

Council cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: "We're really pleased that Swansea has its own giant bucket hat - it'll help people cheer on Wales. Swansea actively celebrates the team's success and the council's events team was delighted to facilitate the hat's installation on behalf of the FAW."
