A giant bucket hat has appeared in the centre of Cardiff

The bucket hat has become a symbol of Welsh footballing culture - and a massive one has just appeared in central Cardiff.

Sporting the iconic yellow, red and green colours, the replica has been placed in The Hayes, with Wales just a few weeks away from competing in their first World Cup since 1958.

You only have to rock up to Cardiff City Stadium when Wales are playing to see a plethora of fans sporting this vital accessory.

On the side of the replica, it reads "Cymru, on top of the world" and on the front is says "Our Wales. Our Red Wall. Thank you for your support."

It's been getting heaps of attention too, and that isn't surprising when a hat is the size of a small car. Children have been posing for photos by it with their parents.

Qatar 2022 is less than three weeks away, and Rob Page's team will kick off their campaign against the United States on November 21. Page will be announcing his full World Cup squad in a Rhondda welfare hall next week.

One suspects they'll be a few thousand bucket hat wearers in Qatar over the next month or so cheering on the boys in red.
