As if anyone needed a reminder, Raiders star Maxx Crosby made sure to demonstrate on Sunday why it’s always a bad idea to do anything extra to provoke the already ferocious pass rusher during a game.
Facing the Giants at home, Crosby’s moment arrived after a scramble from rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito, who filled in for Daniel Jones after he suffered a knee injury in the first quarter.
A scramble by DeVito in the second quarter set up a New York first down after he was brought down by Crosby. Following the play, DeVito would make the questionable decision to use his hand to push himself off Crosby as he stood, a move that noticeably made “Mad Maxx” live up to his nickname.

Although one could argue DeVito meant no ill will, Crosby’s furious reaction, clearly, showed that he thought much differently about the QB’s actions.
Despite the high emotions, the moment would quickly dissipate after a brief war of words. But, given his impromptu “Welcome to the NFL” greeting from Crosby, the tense scene will likely take some time to leave DeVito’s mind.
