And the bride wore Ralph Lauren… thrice!
When news broke of their second ceremony last weekend, aerial shots of Jennifer Lopez walking down the aisle at hubby Ben Affleck’s $8.9 million mansion in Georgia went viral. The star of the shot? Her stunning custom, backless Ralph Lauren dress.
The Marry Me actress is a longtime fan of the brand and tapped the American label to design the celestial ruffled take on their classic turtleneck column dress out of 1,000 handkerchiefs and 500 meters of fabric. To elevate the dress’s billowing train, JLo added a dramatic cathedral-length veil which trailed down the aisle with her.
Considering she had an outfit change at her Las Vegas quickie — from a simple Alexander McQueen dress to a glamorous Zuhair Murad bridal gown — it’s no surprise that the singer had a couple of other looks up her sleeve. The next one was a 1920s flapper-esque evening gown that was adorned in pearl beading, which the bride sported during the cocktail reception and sit-down dinner at the barn. Finally, JLo slipped into one last dress, which featured a sensational keyhole neck and was embellished with Swarovski crystals and a mermaid skirt.
"The dresses were dreamy, thank you Ralph Lauren," the bride wrote in her On the JLo newsletter, where she shared intimate photos from the day and initial sketches of her custom dresses. She also added that she would share more pictures.
It appears that the Ralph Lauren love-in runs deep in the Affleck-Lopez blended family. All five children also wore Ralph Lauren, while the groom complemented his bride’s look in a classic Ralph Lauren Couture white tuxedo jacket.
