A British Horror Story viewers left gobsmacked by Jimmy Savile's 'advice' to the Royal family and letters to Prince Charles

A new Netflix documentary has shared how the vile presenter once sent his PR guide to Prince Charles.

Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story reveals how the former Leeds DJ, thought to have sexually abused as many as 1,000 victims, hid his crimes from an entire nation.

The Netflix show uses extensive archive footage revealing Savile's relationship with the public and for the first time, letters between Prince Charles and Savile are shown. The letters show that the sex abuser gave advice and ideas to the Prince, which were also seen by the Queen and Prince Phillip, in regard to the Royal Family's public relations.

During his time in the public eye, Savile appeared to be a light-hearted, jokey man who spent his time doing charity work but it was all an act. In the letters, titled 'personal observations' Savile claimed that he could comment on the Royal Family's public image due to his many visits to their residences, writing: "Because I get into St James’s Palace and Buckingham Palace on a regular basis, one thing is becoming quite obvious. There is a strong movement now towards some members of the family and their staff towards an … attitude.”

The letters followed a PR disaster for the Royals when Prince Andrew visited the town of Lockerbie following the 1988 disaster where 270 people were killed. The Duke of York caused anger over his 'insensitive' comments, including one where he said that the disaster was "much worse for the Americans".

The documentary further claims that Charles penned his own response to Savile on January 27, 1989. His letter allegedly read: “I attach a copy of my memo on disasters which incorporates your points and which I showed to my Father. He showed it to Her Majesty.

CraigAlsop7 described the connection as "horrific" writing: "I knew about #JimmySavile but just watched the new documentary & it's truly scary to see how long he got away with it away abused his power to a core level. Horrific to see that the royal family took advice from him."

@BrownSugar_1978 continued: "Watching this documentary and seeing the access given to this man because of his fame, absolutely disgusting and what was that with the royal family ? #JimmySavile an absolute horror story."
