Manchester United legend Roy Keane has been criticised for his comments about Liverpool defender Andy Robertson amid his altercation with assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
The official seemingly made contact with the Scotland captain using his elbow amid protests at half-time, prompting a shocked and apoplectic reaction from the full-back. Hatzidakis has been stood down from games as the FA investigates the incident.
However, Keane was less than sympathetic with Robertson, urging him to concentrate on the game. Speaking on Sky Sports during half-time, the former United skipper said: "Do you know what it is, that Robertson? I've watched him a number of times.

“He's a big baby. That's what he is. Just get on with the game and concentrate on your defending. He does grab the linesman first."
And when the subject was touched on after the full-time whistle, Keane went in again, adding: “What’s he gone over to him for? And what’s he complaining for? I said at half-time, Robertson, what a baby. What a big baby. Just get on with the game. Baby.”
Keane’s comments sent the Sky Sports pundits panel into hysterics but not everyone saw the funny side. Ex-Liverpool and Sunderland star Jason McAteer had a frosty relationship with Keane after the midfielder was famously sent home from the 2002 World Cup while representing the Republic of Ireland.
McAteer further took issue with comments Keane made about him in one of his autobiographies, which led to the pair clashing during a Premier League game in the 2002/03 season, with McAteer shouting: “Write that in your book.”
The former Anfield star took issue with Keane’s comments again, this time on Robertson. He tweeted: “All for everyone has an opinion but some I find hard to deal with. Find some opinions a bit rich to be honest but …….. optics #LFC #SkySports #baby #pantomime”.
