Eddie Howe has opened up on what he has changed at Newcastle United's much-storied Benton training base. Since taking over the new owners have funded some upgrading around the 20-year-old building and the Magpies are confident of receiving planning permission for more big changes this summer.
Newcastle aim to install hydrotherapy pools, new lounges, catering and medical facilities. But since Howe was appointed he asked for refurbishments around the building as well as TV screens which feed the squad with data, including a player leaderboard on player performances in training.
Howe said: "We have tried to create an environment that was a little bit more welcoming. We have made subtle changes to the training ground.
