The Met Gala returned to New York City on Monday night in spectacular style to pay homage to this year's theme celebrating Karl Lagerfield's legacy.
The extravagant event, which hosts the most glamorous A-listers, saw style tributes from Hollywood's biggest names on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Among the celebrities was Scots star James McAvoy, who posed for photos on the red carpet alongside his wife Lisa Liberati.
The 44-year-old looked dapper as sported a perfectly-fitted black suit, bejewelled black tie and a crisp white waistcoat and shirt, finishing off the look with a black foldable hand fan.
As the late creative director of Chanel, Lagerfeld was known for carrying a small fan with him, and McAvoy sure captured this legacy.
And James McAvoy wasn't the only famous face to bring a touch of Scotland to the New York City event.
Each year, fashion fans look forward to an appearance from parents-to-be and fashion icons A$AP Rocky and Rihanna.
And the duo did not disappoint- turning up fashionably late, A$AP shocked fans by sneaking through the crowd and hopping a barricade outside of The Carlyle Hotel in New York City ahead of the renowned event.
Later in the evening, the Praise The Lord singer recreated an iconic Karl Lagerfeld look, as he donned a red tartan kilt, a thick black belt, white button-down, a black tie and a perfectly tailored blazer- however, unsurprisingly the stylish star put his own touch on the look, laying the kilt over a pair of baggy jeans.
Rihanna turned heads as she arrived wearing a floral white dress by Valentino.
Once arriving on the red carpet - which seemed to have stayed open for her arrival - she appeared in a voluminous, flowery white Valentino gown, complete with a coat made of white fabric roses and sunglasses that had their very own eyelashes.
Every year a host of famous faces don their most out-there outfits for a specific theme, and this year honoured the work of the late German designer Karl Lagerfeld, who was the creative director of Chanel until his death in 2019.
