Every time a 10-year-old girl had a severe migraine, the skin of her eyebrow bled, always from the same spot. Temporary red spots also appeared on her forehead during attacks and faded soon after the headache ended.
Her doctors ran neurological exams and brain imaging in search of an explanation. Everything came back normal. The case, reported by pediatric neurologists at Iran University of Medical Sciences and Ali-Asghar Children's Hospital in Tehran, appeared in the December 2024 issue of Annals of Medicine & Surgery.
