A 10-minute daily walk could 'prolong life' in over 85s, suggests new research

Just 10 minutes of walking each day could lengthen life in older people, according to new research.

The accessible exercise has been found to provide a huge range of health benefits, and now researchers are urging over 85s to make sure they're getting a daily walk in as it could prologue their life. Scientists say this study could be important as meeting recommended activity levels can be difficult for some older people to achieve.

Because of that it's important to know the minimum amount of exercise that could prolong life. This was found to be an hour of walking each week, which can be done by walking for 10 minutes each day, with space for a rest day.
