90s pop star Dario G has announced he has stage four cancer. Famed for hits including Sunchyme and Carnival de Paris, Dario G - real name Paul Spencer - reached number two in the UK singles chart in 1997, reports StokeOnTrentLive.
Paul announced the news in a post on Twitter writing: "Hard to write this. I’ve just found out that I’ve got stage 4 rectal cancer and a shadow on my liver. That’s damn hard to read too I’m sure. Gonna give it my best shot though.
He added: "Stay positive, cos I am. Always. Seeing the doctors on Friday to discuss the next steps."
Dario G formed as Dario, named after then Crewe Alexandra manager Dario Gradi. Original members Scott Rosser and Stephen Spencer, no relation to Paul, left the group leaving Paul as a solo act.
Dario G's latest album - Hola - was released in 2020, with his latest single Keep on Lovin, recorded with Sonique, released in 2021.
