A family in Lady Bay has been kept entertained for the past two weeks after as a litter of fox cubs have taken over their garden every night.
Mum of two Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Renshaw shared a video of the adorable fox cubs playing on the trampoline in her garden. Nine fox cubs have been living under the shed in her garden and at dusk they come out and play all through the night.
The 37-year-old said: “About two weeks ago our neighbour sent us a text saying there’s fox cubs in your garden so we all rushed to look at them out the window. There were four or five then, but, over the last two weeks more have appeared and now there are nine of them.

“They play at the bottom of the garden, they like to live under the sheds and buildings so I think they’re living under our out building. They come out at dusk and they play all night until about seven in the morning, then they go to sleep for the day. “
Liz has a trampoline in the garden for her two young children, aged two and four, however, she joked that it ‘definitely belongs to the fox cubs now’.
The mum continued: “They are really entertaining, they’re like little puppies, they’re just wrestling and they love the little trampoline. We didn’t put it out for them, it's always in the garden. Now, it definitely belongs to them.
“[I have a] two year old and a four year old and they think it’s really funny that they’re foxes on their trampoline. They love watching them out the window. They both want to give them a cuddle and we’ve had to keep explaining that we’re not allowed to touch them, we’re just watching them.”
Liz explained that the family has borrowed a trail camera which allows them to get footage of the foxes playing out at night. She also added that there's a ‘mum’ fox who patrols at night watching them.
She added: “It’s been a nice thing to do as a family, we go out and get the memory card in the morning and see what they’ve been up to. They’re out every night, they’ll be here for a few more months as well until they get bigger and then they go off.
“They’re just like little puppies, they zoom around the grass, it's just really fun to watch. We think it's the mum of all of them, but it could be two litters in one and she’s just looking after them all, she just patrols around them and checks their ok.
“We’re not feeding them, we’re just leaving them to it. We’re going to have to be careful what we leave out over the summer because they chew everything. They’ve already destroyed a gardening glove and the end of our watering can.”
