9 fantasy hockey sleepers to target in your 2022 draft

We’ve helped you find some fantasy hockey team names in case you’re looking for the perfect moniker for your squad ahead of the 2022-23 NHL season.

Now, it’s time to help with some other names: Those of some sleepers for you to target in your upcoming draft. We’re talking about the ones you want to target when you’re well past the initial rounds.

This is a mix of forwards, defensemen and goalies who could end up blasting past their ADP to help win your league.

So let’s dive in and help you find some of those diamonds in the rough this season:

1
D Vince Dunn, Seattle Kraken

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

It looks like he could be in line for an expanded role this year, and after he had seven goals and 28 assists last season, those numbers could increase.

2
F Jakub Vrana, Detroit Red Wings

I’ve seen him at the top of a bunch of sleeper lists and you get why.

He had 19 points in 26 games for the Wings last year and a point per game after he was dealt to Detroit in 2021. In a full season, the sky’s the limit.

3
G Alexandar Georgiev, Colorado Avalanche

Georgiev was uneven for the Rangers as a backup last year, but now he gets a fresh start on the Stanley Cup-defending Avalanche. There’s plenty of value there for him to be a No. 2 netminder on your team at a backup’s price.

4
F Kirby Dach, Montreal Canadiens

A post-hype name for you to consider after a rough Blackhawks tenure. With the trade to the Canadiens, maybe THIS is the year he breaks out.

5
F Boone Jenner, Columbus Blue Jackets

A solid season last year in just 59 games, but this is all about his potential linemates. If he’s centering Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine? Look out.

6
F Matty Beniers, Seattle Kraken

He may not be drafted in the top 100, but maybe he should be after he went second overall in the 2021 NHL Draft and totaled nine points in just 10 games last season.

7
F Vincent Trocheck, New York Rangers

As a Rangers fan, I was thrilled when he signed with the franchise. But there’s no bias here — he could have Artemi Panarin as a linemate. That’s worth a lot after he totaled 21 goals and 51 points with the Hurricanes last season.

8
D Bowen Byram, Colorado Avalanche

The numbers were there last season when he played — 17 points in 30 games. If he’s healthy this season? Imagine what he might be able to do.

9
G Cam Talbot, Ottawa Senators

Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

The Sens are a much-improved team this offseason, so that could mean Talbot could put up solid numbers as the starter.
