“Neck skin is different from the skin on our face,” explains Dr Ash Soni. “It’s thinner and has fewer oil glands, which makes the neck even more susceptible to dry skin, wrinkles and loss of elasticity.” Necks are constantly moving and creasing, and tend to be exposed to UV radiation, which can accelerate the appearance of ageing. We also lose elastin (which helps to maintain skin’s firmness) as we age, leading to sagging and a loss of definition.
