The 8 th Pay Commission kicked off its two-day meetings in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, today (Monday, June 22, 2027). Officials from various central government employee associations, who have been in regular touch with the 8 th CPC team, suggest that the government may roll out the 8 th Pay Commission report as early as March 2027.
The 8 th Pay Commission is scheduled to have 54 interactions in its two-day Lucknow meetings. It will interact with unions/associations/individuals from a range of central government departments, including railways, defence, health, revenue, communication, CPWD, agriculture, and more. Some employee association officials who have experience with the 6 th and 7 th Pay Commissions, didn’t rule out the implementation of the report in the first half of 2027, as they see the 8 th Pay Commission making swift progress despite starting its work later than expected.
