An 80-year-old Scot has died after a fall on a mountain on the isle of Skye.
Coastguard rescue teams and Skye Mountain Rescue rushed to Coire a' Bhasteir in the Cuillin range at around 3.05pm Wednesday, July 26, after reports of a fallen climber.
They quickly found the man who was described as an experienced mountaineer. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a man having fallen at Coire a’ Bhasteir on the Isle of Skye around 3.05pm on Wednesday, 26 July, 2023. Emergency services attended, and an 80-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
