The Seahawks made a trio of decisive salary cap moves on Tuesday, cutting tight end Will Dissly as well as starting safeties Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs. All three of them are being released outright, which means the team will eat all of their dead money this year and be 100% clean and free of those contracts in 2025.
While it’s good news for their salary cap situation, now the team has to find a couple of replacements at safety. For one, we know that Pro Bowler Julian Love will be starting next season – and there’s a chance that Jerrick Reed II will be joining him in the starting lineup. However, first year head coach Mike Macdonald might not feel comfortable giving such an important role to a safety who only played 29 defensive snaps as a rookie and his other options on the roster right now are far from ideal.
With that in mind, here are eight potential replacements for Adams and Diggs in free agency.
