64% jump in pension credit applications being awarded

DWP Department Department for Work and Pensions

A spike in pension credit applications has been recorded, with a 64% jump in successful claims after the Government announced that winter fuel payments would be means-tested.

Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) figures show that 117,800 pension credit claims were awarded during the period July 29 2024 to February 23 2025, marking a 64% increase from 72,000 between July 31 2023 to February 25 2024.
