There were 55 more Covid-19 fatalities and 6,488 confirmed new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported on Monday.
Sunday’s figures did not include 4,945 positive results from antigen tests over the 24 hours. This would raise the total to 11,433.
This compared with the 54 coronavirus-related fatalities and 8,081 new cases reported on the previous day.
As of Sunday, a total of 84,957 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (down from 91,279 the previous day), including 29,171 in hospitals. Of the remainder, 9,970 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities and 45,455 in home/community isolation.
Of those in hospital, 1,522 were seriously ill with lung inflammation and 738 dependent on ventilators.
Bangkok had the most seriously ill cases at 121, followed by 73 in Nakhon Ratchasima, 63 in Ubon Ratchathani, 56 in Udon Thani and 54 in Samut Prakan.
The 24-hour period also saw 12,755 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
According to the CCSA, the 55 people who died were aged from 19 to 94 years.
Bangkok logged three more coronavirus-related deaths and there were two in the adjacent provinces of Samut Sakhon and Pathum Thani.
Other central plains provinces further from the capital reported 12 deaths - three in Kanchanaburi, two each in Uthai Thani and Nakhon Sawan and one each in Ang Thong, Chon Buri, Nakhon Nayok, Ratchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
The North reported 15 deaths - five in Chiang Rai, two each in Chiang Mai, Sukothai, Phetchabun and Kamphaeng Phet and one each in Nan and Lampang.
The Northeast saw 20 fatalities - three each in Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani and Nong Khai, two each in Nakhon Ratchasima, Surin, Loei, Khon Kaen and Kalasin and one in Si Sa Ket.
The South had three coronavirus-related deaths - in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Satun and Phuket.
There were 6,482 new cases in the general population, two among prison inmates and four imported ones.
Of the new infections in the general population, 6,461 were confirmed at hospitals and 21 via mass testing.
Bangkok continued to report the most daily cases at 1,865, followed by 273 in Buri Ram, 226 in Surin, 223 in Roi Et, 197 in Chon Buri, 187 in Samut Prakan, 181 in Ubon Ratchathani, 143 in Nakhon Ratchasima, 129 in Khon Kaen and 127 in Sakon Nakhon.
The four imported cases came from Australia (1) and Myanmar (3).
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,331,338 Covid-19 cases, including 2,107,903 this year, with 4,217,238 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 29,143 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 7,445 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 302,546 in 24 hours to 517.26 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 638 to 6.27 million.
The United States had the most cases at 83.58 million, up 14,008, and the most deaths at 1.02 million, up 21.
