50-year old surfer bitten by shark in Western Australia, rushed to hospital

A man in his 50's was taken to the hospital after being attacked by a shark in Western Australia, according to the state government and local ambulance service.

This incident was reported around 9.45am local time (2.45am Irish time), when the man was surfing at Glenfield beach, just over 400km north of perth; said by the authorities.

People are advised to take extra caution, when they are around the beach.

According to Australian experts, shark migration patterns are changing due to increasingly congested seas, and rising ocean temperatures, which may be causing an increase in attacks.

In January month, a 12-year-old child, who was swimming in Sydney Harbor was attacked by a shark, and killed, according to the www.rte.ie/news.

A lady was mauled by a shark in the month of June in Sydney, one of Australia's most well-known beaches.

Following the incident on June 13, she was put into an induced coma, and had a portion of her left arm amputated.

A database of shark interactions with people shows that since 1791, there have been almost 1,300 shark incidences happened in Australia, of which about 260 ended in fatalities.
