50,000 DWP Universal Credit claimants could get share of £150m after court case

As many as 50,000 claimants of Universal Credit could receive a share of £150 million in payouts after a court case.

Two men on Universal Credit won a legal challenge against the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) after moving from older 'legacy benefits' on to the one-size-fits-all Universal Credit scheme, reports the Mirror.

The severely disabled men on benefits in this position were discriminated against when they lost money moving on to Universal Credit, the High Court has said.
