However, stocks rose in the last trading session to end the first day of the second half on a positive note. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 321.83 points to 31,097.26, while the S&P 500 rose 1.1% to 3,825.33, and the Nasdaq Composite was up by 0.9%.
Nonetheless, market volatility might persist amid the lingering inflation and even more monetary tightening by the Federal Reserve. The CBOE Volatility Index gained 55.1% year-to-date.
