Unpacked: Young People & Violence is a new podcast backed by research from Runnymede Trust’s new Keeping Us Safe report, hosted by presenter and broadcaster Richie Brave.

The five-part series aims to challenge the narrative around youth crime and ask the uncomfortable questions: who is the victim? Who is forgotten? What will actually keep young people safe?

On this week’s episode, Brave is joined by No More Exclusions co-founder Jay Yambuya and Jenni Steele, early intervention lead at youth charity Juvenis.

They discuss everything from what happens when youth violence appears, how youth clubs have changed, experiences of children who migrate to the UK from other countries, and dealing with loneliness as a child.

It was interesting hearing Brave, Yambuya and Steele open up about when the discipline of children backfires, and the impact of labelling and school exclusions on young people.

If you are looking for honest discussions that explore the cycles of violence affecting young people across the UK, then listen to Runneymede Trust’s Unpacked: Young People And Violence.

The Outtake Show is a weekly podcast where hosts Junior Alawa and Marion Mokgohloa dive into the latest films and TV series that everyone’s talking about, covering everything from indie gems to major blockbuster releases.

This week, they are joined by special guest Scully and the trio shares their candid thoughts and unfiltered opinions on two of 2026’s biggest horror hits, Obsession and Backrooms.

The hosts’ passion for cinema shines throughout the episode as they explore the directors’ storytelling approaches, unpack the themes and symbolism woven into each film, and debate which psychological thriller delivered the most compelling and unsettling exploration of the human mind.

The conversation also turns to the growing trend of YouTubers transitioning into filmmaking, examining the influence of low-budget productions on Hollywood and celebrating the value of original storytelling in an industry increasingly dominated by adaptations and remakes.

If you’re a film buff who enjoys dissecting all the latest releases with fellow movie lovers, The Outtake Show is well worth a listen.

4. Candid Convos with Jona Dance

Streaming platform: All streaming platforms and YouTube

Genre: Life and dance

Monique Jonas is something of an authority when it comes to dance. Having started her career with Richard Alston Dance Company in 2016, she went on to become a principal dancer for Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures and worked commercially on projects including the 2021 Brit Awards.

Most significantly, she founded Jona Dance in 2019, where she choreographs and teaches, working on pieces for Ballet Black, Reebok and London Fashion Week. Additionally, Jona Dance produces Candid Convos – a podcast in which Jonas chats to guests about everything “contemporary dance”.

This week, her guest is Blue Makwana, a choreographer, movement director, rehearsal director and teacher who hails from performing arts school The BRIT School and CAT (Centre for Advanced Training).

She chats to Jonas about her career journey so far, including the “struggling artist” narrative. They dig deep into the issue of how to price yourself as a freelancer, and with rates still a tricky topic, there is some great advice for young dancers, including being aware of the integrity of work and industry standards. The main headline being don’t sell yourself short!

This is a fascinating insight into the dance industry, providing an eye-opening and entertaining look into a world that is not always as glamorous as it looks.
