Next up on the PGA Tour schedule is the lone team event in New Orleans at the Zurich Classic at TPC Louisiana.
The defending champions, Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay, are teaming up once again — yes, they’re featured on this list — but they’re going to have to fight off a few loaded teams.
For example, world Nos. 7 and 13, Max Homa and Collin Morikawa, have their eyes set on a W. Both players graduated from Cal and were members of the winning 2022 U.S. Presidents Cup team at Quail Hollow.
Here are our five can’t-miss teams for the Zurich Classic in New Orleans (each player’s world ranking is featured in parenthesis).
Patrick Cantlay (4) and Xander Schauffele (5)
It’s going to be tough to take down this pairing. Schauffele and Cantlay played together several times in the last Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup and are the defending champions.
Cantlay finished solo third at RBC Heritage on Sunday, while Schauffele took home solo fourth.
Max Homa (7) and Collin Morikawa (13)
Two premium ball strikers playing together is a recipe for success.
Morikawa tied for 31st at the RBC Heritage, while Homa saw his cuts made streak end at 15.
Sam Burns (12) and Billy Horschel (27)
These two were the runner ups to Cantlay and Schauffele in 2022. Burns is a winner already this season, taking home the title at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in Austin.
Horschel was on the winning team at the Zurich in 2018 with Scott Piercy. In 2013, before the tournament was a team event, Horschel made the Zurich his first PGA Tour title.
Matt Fitzpatrick (8) and Alex Fitzpatrick (705)
The Fitzpatrick boys got together after a simple text message.
As easy as that!! 😂
Excited to play alongside Alex for the first time, will be a special few days!! https://t.co/E4zDPciXX1 pic.twitter.com/T1Q7BZH5kB

Matt Fitzpatrick jumped eight spots to No. 8 after winning his second PGA Tour title at the RBC Heritage on Sunday.
John Daly and David Duval
Team Legend! Someone needs to keep an eye on Daly in Nola, might be a recipe for disaster (or just a really good time).
