NEW DELHI: Australia lost the initiative after an impressive start as Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami squared things for India on the opening day of the fourth Test in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

Australia were 75/2 at lunch with Usman Khawaja and skipper Steve Smith at the crease.
