The 49ers on Saturday announced a couple roster moves ahead of their preseason opener Sunday vs. the Las Vegas Raiders.
San Francisco waived/injured defensive lineman Daelin Hayes and signed cornerback Nate Brooks.
Brooks was an undrafted free agent addition by the Cardinals following the 2019 draft. He’s primarily been a practice squad player with the Cardinals, Patriots, Dolphins, Ravens, Buccaneers, Titans and Raiders. Brooks has seen action in four games, including three with the Dolphins in 2019 and one with the Ravens in 2020. He started two of those three games with Miami and had a pair of pass breakups to go along with 11 tackles.
Hayes will revert to season-ending IR with the 49ers if he clears waivers. From there he can reach an injury settlement and be released or stay on IR for the season.
