49ers List Nick Bosa As Questionable For Sunday’s Game vs. Bucs

The San Francisco 49ers have struggled with injuries so far this NFL season. Most notable has been the absence of running back Christian McCaffrey, while ailments to Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and other key pieces have given Kyle Shanahan some roster issues through the first nine weeks.

There has been some good news in recent days about the availability of McCaffrey and others, but now one of their best defensive players is listed as questionable for the team’s upcoming game.

49ers Have Nick Bosa Listed As Questionable

Nick Bosa hasn’t had a wildly productive season like in year’s past, but the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year has been able to rack up 4.5 sacks and 7 tackles for loss so far in 2024. He has been healthy all season including when the team headed into their bye week, but an apparent collision with a teammate during Wednesday’s practice left him with a hip pointer, and he is now listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.

When asked if he is concerned about Bosa’s status for the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan said the following:

I am, to a degree. He wasn’t able to do a lot. He definitely was extremely limited. Hoping he’ll be all right, but we’ll see on Sunday

Deebo Samuel, Christian McCaffrey On Injury List As Well

There will be plenty of eyes on the 49ers injury report on Sunday morning. Fans will be checking up on Bosa’s status, but guys like Deebo Samuel and Malik Mustapha are listed as questionable as well. Christian McCaffrey technically has a questionable status, though there is little doubt that he’ll make his season debut on Sunday. Jauan Jennings has no injury designation listed.

The 49ers have hobbled out to a 4-4 start through their first eight games, and find themselves in third place in the NFC West entering the week. They’ll have a bit of a climb if they hope to reach their goal of winning the division, as they have already given up the tie-breaker to both the Cardinals and Rams. They have one more game against each division opponent, and huge contests still to come against the Bills, Lions, and Packers.

As for Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers, San Francisco is favored by 6.5 points for the road contest.
