The San Francisco 49ers are retaining one of their key special teams players for the next two years. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the 49ers are re-signing George Odum to a two-year deal worth up to $10 million.
The contract makes Odum the highest-paid core special teams player in the NFL, so it’s a big raise for the six-year veteran. He just wrapped up his second season with the 49ers after four years with the Colts, earning second-team All-Pro honors in 2022.
Though he only played 75 defensive snaps in the last two seasons, he does have one interception (2022). He’s also played 541 special teams snaps since 2022 and has 34 total tackles in that span.
The #49ers and special teams ace George Odum have agreed to a two-year extension worth up to $10 million, per his agent Matt Glose.
