Forty-eight people declared candidacies for federal or statewide offices in the past week, one more than last week. All of these candidates declared before their state’s official filing deadline.
Twenty-one of those candidates were Democrats, while 25 were Republicans. One is a minor-party candidate, and one candidate is running in a nonpartisan race.
Thirty-three of these candidates are running for Congress, 12 for state legislatures, one for state supreme court, and two for attorney general.
