POLICE are appealing for information on two suspects after a man was left "seriously injured" in East Kilbride.
The incident happened around 7.30pm on Wednesday, July, 1, on the footpath at The Murray Road, near its junction with Westwood Hill.
A 42-year-old man was out walking when two men approached and assaulted him. He was taken to Hairmyres Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
The first suspect is described as a white male, 5ft 10, of slim build and was wearing a black tammy hat and a blue/grey jumper.
The second suspect is described as a white male, 5ft 8, also of slim build, wearing a blue/grey hat and a light blue top.
Officers have been reviewing any relevant CCTV footage from the area and surrounding areas for additional information on the suspects.
Detective Constable Ross Burgess said: “This was a violent attack which left the victim with serious injuries and it is vital we trace the individuals responsible.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen two men around The Murray Road or Westwood Hill area on Wednesday evening to please come forward.
“In particular, we would like to hear from anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage which could be of significance to this investigation.”
