Everton have been continuing their preparations for Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Brentford at Goodison Park.
Appointed as Blues boss on Monday, Frank Lampard took charge of another session at the club’s USM Finch Farm training base on Wednesday afternoon.
Lampard took charge of his first session on Monday afternoon following his appointment as Rafa Benitez’s successor.
And below we have taken a look at four things we learned from Everton’s latest training session.

New boys take part
Everton were one of the busiest teams on transfer deadline day with both Donny van de Beek and Dele Alli joining the club.
Van de Beek has joined the Blues on loan from Manchester United for the remainder of the campaign after struggling for regular game time at Old Trafford.
While Alli moved to the Blues on a permanent deal from Tottenham Hotspur as he looks to resurrect his career following a number of years in the wilderness.
And both have been pictured taking part in training on Wednesday afternoon as they look to hit the ground running with their new club.
However, it is worth noting that both are ineligible to play in Saturday’s FA Cup tie as they both played in Round 3 for their previous clubs.
Baines watches on
Having initially stepped up to help Duncan Ferguson during his time as caretaker manager, Leighton Baines was spotted watching training with Lampard.
Baines retired after 13 years and 420 appearances for Everton at the end of the 2019/20 season, but was immediately brought back to the club as professional development coach.
The former defender’s remit was to work closely with young first-team players as well as the club’s under-23s and under-18s squads.
But following Phil Jevons’ departure to Sunderland back in September, Baines moved to become Paul Tait’s assistant on a short-term basis.
It is not known if Baines will return to his role with the club’s Under-18 side, but for Blues left-back Vitalii Mykolenko there is no one better to learn from.
The former England international and Lampard could be seen enjoying a good chat while the Blues’ first-team were being put through their paces.
Dobbin involved
Fresh from signing a new contract with the Blues last week, Lewis Dobbin was also involved in today’s session.
The 19-year-old put pen to paper on a new three-and-a-half year deal with the club last Thursday, keeping him at Goodison Park until June 2025.
The youngster has rapidly progressed through the youth sides in recent years and has been a regular feature in Premier League squads throughout the 2021/22 season so far.
The forward latched onto a pinpoint cross from Nathan Patterson to score the only goal of the game as Everton’s Under-23s beat Southampton last Monday.
But having now committed his long-term future to the club, Evertonians will be hoping to see the youngster get more first-team action in the weeks and months ahead.
Tosun in attendance
The January transfer window may have closed in the UK on Monday - but the Turkish window remains open.
As a result, speculation has continued linking Cenk Tosun with a return to Besiktas before the window shuts in Turkey on February 8.
The striker has worked his way back from a long-term injury, but it's clear that his time with the club is running out.
Tosun came off the bench against Liverpool earlier this month before he was an unused substitute against Arsenal just days later.
However, the Turkish international has not been in the Blues’ matchday squads for any of their Premier League games since - the forward did come off the bench for the final three minutes of his side’s extra-time FA Cup win over Hull City.
But despite the speculation, Tosun was pictured all smiles along with team-mates Andre Gomes and Richarlison ahead of today's session.
