Class of 2024 wide receiver recruit Amari Jefferson has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Jefferson was previously committed to Tennessee baseball. The four-star athlete chose the Crimson Tide over Georgia and Tennessee.
Jefferson, a four-star prospect, is expected to play both baseball and football at Alabama.
Alabama has the No. 9 recruiting class in the nation. The Crimson Tide has only 15 commitments in the class of 2024, so Alabama should be expected to rise further up the recruiting rankings as signing day approaches.
Tennessee has the No. 8 recruiting class in the country. Georgia has the nation’s top-ranked class of 2024, but recently missed out on a few key recruiting targets.
Jefferson plays high school football for Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jefferson ranks as the nation’s No. 209 recruit and No. 16 athlete. The four-star is the third-ranked player in Tennessee, so the Tennessee Volunteers are disappointed to miss out on a key in-state recruiting target.
The Baylor school standout went on official visits to Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia this summer.
Jefferson has an excellent combination of speed and hand-eye coordination. On film, Jefferson’s acceleration and cutting separate him from other talented high school recruits. Jefferson is a smooth athlete. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound athlete does a great job of accumulating yardage after the catch.
