Four men have been sentenced for their part in a street fight which led to a 'much-loved' mother being run over and killed. They were among a large group of people involved in a disturbance in Lindley Street, in Selston, on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
Dawn Fletcher, 32 and from Chesterfield, was killed when Ashley Tinklin, aged 37, drove his white Volkswagen van over her. She died at the scene. Tinklin, of Recreation Street, Selston, pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Nottingham Crown Court on December 14, 2020, and was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.
Four more men have now been sentenced for their roles in the street violence which preceded Dawn's death. During a hearing at the same court on Tuesday (October 25), Andrew Dickens, 43, of Church Lane, Brinsley, was given a five-month jail sentence, suspended for 21 months, for affray. He was in the front of the van when it was driven by Tinklin at Dawn.
