4 injured as bus hits autorickshaw in Kolkata

KOLKATA: Three passengers and an auto driver were severely injured after a bus collided head-on with the three-wheeler at Baguiati on VIP Road on Thursday afternoon. While two of the passengers were admitted at a private hospital, another passenger and the auto driver were shifted to RG Kar Hospital on Thursday evening.

Police said the incident happened at Jyangra in Baguiati when the bus of route 30C was heading towards Baguiati from Hatiara at a relatively high speed along a narrow road without a median divider and crashed into the three-wheeler around 3pm. Police later detained the driver, Sheikh Imtiyaz for rash driving and seized the bus

Doctors at the private hospital on VIP Road said, the condition of the two passengers in the auto’s backseat – Sonali Basak (33) and Deepak Thakur (37) - was extremely serious.
