One of the strongest LIV Golf teams is 4Aces GC, which finished top of the standings in the circuit's inaugural season in 2022, before repeating the feat after the 13 regular events a year later.
However, on that occasion, despite heading into the Team Championship as the top seed, it was Bryson DeChambeau's Crushers GC who ultimately won the Trump National Doral event and the $14m top prize.
The 4 Aces GC quartet originally included Talor Gooch, but he moved to Range Goats GC in 2023 before joining Smash GC in 2024. For the first of those seasons, Peter Uihlein stepped in, but in 2024, it was Harold Varner III who came on board to team up with long-standing members, two-time Major-winning captain Dustin Johnson, Pat Perez and Patrick Reed.
The latest 4 Aces GC line-up has found the going the hardest. Following the last regular event of the 2024 LIV Golf season in Chicago, it could only finish 10th of the 13 teams in the standings having failed to win any of the events.
Johnson finished 14th in the Individual Standings, helped by victory at LIV Golf Las Vegas, with Reed 20th, Varner III 43rd and Perez just one place above the Drop Zone in 48th.
Despite its struggles in 2024, 4 Aces GC secured its place in the final of the season-closing Team Championship after beating Range Goats GC in the quarter-finals and Stinger GC in the semifinals, leaving its chances of even more glory alive with just one day of the season to come.
The team is sponsored by apparel manufacturer Extracurricular and aviation company Magellan Jets.
