Comic Con returned to Liverpool today and thousands of people went all out to dress up for the event.
People travelled from cities including London, Manchester and Nottingham and there were plenty in attendance from across Merseyside as well. Comic Con is a huge celebration of sci fi, comic, tv and film culture, with cosplay a huge part of the event.
Before the doors opened this morning, there was a large queue outside the Exhibition Centre where it was being held. The ECHO met people in the queue including a woman dressed as Rey from The Last Jedi, who had made her costume by customising charity shop finds.

There were also people dressed as characters from The Mandalorian and Kingdom Hearts. One man, dressed as Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan, told the ECHO about his elaborate costume. He said: “I’ve made it all. I started making it in January and finished last night. I’m hoping it all stays in place.”

A woman dressed as Cinderella was also attending tomorrow’s event dressed as the Eighth Doctor, after finding out actor Paul McGann was going to be in attendance. Once inside, many people chose to enter the cosplay competition, which had a cash prize.
Celebrity guests in attendance included Robocop himself, Peter Weller, and Guardians of the Galaxy stars Michael Rooker, who plays Yondu. Glee stars Matthew Morrison and Heather Morris also appeared. The event continues tomorrow at Liverpool’s Exhibition Centre and tickets are still available at TicketQuarter.
