300 additional taxi permits will be granted for Dublin Airport this summer.
Parking remains a major issue at the airport as seasonal travel ramps up. The daa has confirmed a number of measures to help alleviate parking shortages, including an increase in daily bus services.
The additional permits mark an increase of 20 per cent on what is typically allowed at the airport. The airport welcomed a staggering 425,000 passengers this Junk Bank Holiday weekend alone.
The daa's CEO Kenny Jacobs said: "We’ve increased the number of taxi permits and bus options for passengers because we understand that being able to get to and from and the airport in a fast and reliable manner is a key part of the airport experience. With passenger numbers now back at pre-pandemic levels, we want to make sure passenger have plenty of compelling travel options."

The issuing of taxi permits is making a difference for passengers, according to airport officials. Waiting times for a taxi at Dublin Airport have plummeted to an average of six minutes.
Passengers are reminded to be vigilant during the busy travel period. People departing from the airport are advised to arrive two hours ahead of their flight time for a short haul flight and three hours before a long haul one.
