A SECTION of a beach in Aberdeen has been locked down following the death of a 30-year-old woman.

Police officers taped off an area at the Donmouth Local Nature Reserve, in Aberdeen, just after 9am on Sunday, June 9.

Later in the afternoon, Police Scotland confirmed that a woman’s body had been found.

Pedestrians were asked to avoid the area while inquiries were carried out.

Officers have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the 30-year-old. They also said a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9am on Sunday, June 9, we were called to the Esplanade, Aberdeen.

“A 30-year-old woman was pronounced dead.

“There would not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
