Three US Secret Service officials have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into potential misconduct, with the agency's Office of Professional Responsibility conducting the probe.

The officials were working in non-law enforcement roles, the Secret Service said, according to the Associated Press. The agency did not disclose what prompted the action or provide details about the alleged misconduct.
The three employees include Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi and two other members of the Secret Service's communications office. Their security clearances and access to work devices have also been suspended as part of the investigation, according to US officials cited by CBS.
The development comes as the Secret Service faces increased scrutiny over security arrangements for President Donald Trump, who has been the target of at least three assassination plots over the past two years.
In April, an armed man breached security at the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, which Trump was attending, AP reported.
The agency has also recently investigated a member of Vice President JD Vance's security detail over allegations of leaking sensitive information.
The probe followed a July report by MS NOW about frustration among some agents over last-minute travel requests involving Vance and his family.
The Secret Service has also drawn attention over Trump's recent departure from Turkey.
Trump acknowledged earlier this month that he had been moved to a different aircraft because the Secret Service and military were concerned about a possible Iranian assassination threat.
