HP, Lamb Weston and Target were the top three S&P 500 index gainers on the stock market today. Twitter, Etsy and Discovery were the S&P 500's biggest losers on Thursday.
HPQ stock soared nearly 15% to 40.07, a record high. Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway disclosed a $4.2 billion, or 11% stake, in PC and printer giant HP Inc.
LW jumped 8% to 65.25, reclaiming its 200-day line. Early Thursday, frozen french fry giant Lamb Weston reported a 62% EPS gain, easily beating, though sales slightly missed.
TGT stock jumped 5.7% to 228.22, hitting a three-month intraday.
S&P 500 Losers
TWTR stock slumped 5.4% to 48.04, falling back from its 200-day moving average. Twitter stock surged 27% on Monday, after Tesla CEO Elon Musk belatedly disclosed a 9.1% stake in the social network. On Tuesday, Twitter said Musk would join its board.
Etsy stock lost 3.6% to 120.95, trading near 52-week lows.
DISCA stock sank 3.5% to 23.07, a fresh 2022 low. The K-class shares of Discovery also sank 3.5%.
