In a recent article listing the top 100 players in the NFL ahead of the 2023 season, three Tennessee Titans made the cut, and one of them just barely.
According to CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco, he ranks three Titans in his top 100 list, and I’m sure you can guess who they are… OK, time’s up: it’s Derrick Henry (No. 30), Jeffery Simmons (No. 43) and Kevin Byard (No. 100).
Here’s what Prisco had to say about each:
30. Derrick Henry
Playing behind a terrible offensive line, he finished second in the league in rushing with 1,538 yards and also scored 13 touchdowns. He turns 30 next January, so you have to wonder if he will start slowing down.
43. Jeffery Simmons
He played through some injuries last year and it showed. He wasn’t as dominant. But when healthy, he’s one of the best inside players in the game.
100. Kevin Byard
His play wasn’t quite as good as in 2021, but he still remains one of the better safeties in the league. He has nine picks the past two seasons.
Of course, I’d move all three of these guys up the list, but it’s just good to see them getting the recognition they deserve. Tennessee will need all three to be at the top of their games if the team wants to make noise in 2023.
