The crash happened at around 11:35pm on Tuesday near 65th Street in Bay Ridge, when a black Cadillac Escalade carrying five teenagers collided with a Honda HR-V. Both vehicles were travelling eastbound at the time, The New York Post reported citing police.

Three boys aged 16, 17 and 18 were taken to NYU Langone Hospital in critical condition. They later died from their injuries, police said.

Two other teenagers in the Cadillac, aged 16 and 18, were taken to Maimonides Hospital.

Police have not yet established which of the teenagers was driving the Cadillac.

The Honda was carrying two women, a 46-year-old driver and a 44-year-old passenger. Both were taken to NYU Langone Hospital and were reported to be in stable condition.

No arrests have been made in connection with the crash.

The investigation is underway
