3 movies with over 85% on Rotten Tomatoes just added to Netflix

Pride and Prejudice

Netflix already has an extensive library of great shows and movies to get your teeth stuck into, but if you feel like you've 'completed' Netflix you're almost certainly wrong.

As one of the best streaming services Netflix's library is constantly changing. Titles leave but they also arrive, and these three movies that have just made their way to Netflix are all essential viewing, with over 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.

1. Bridesmaids

A movie that really broke boundaries for women in comedy, Bridesmaids proved that women can be just as badly behaved as men, and score big at the box office. Kristen Wiig leads an ensemble cast on the mother of all bachelorette parties for her best friend's wedding. Some have described it as "The Hangover but Women" and it's true that they both share a chaotic sense of humour but Bridesmaids is also a strong rom-com at the same time. With 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, its quality is plain for all to see.

This was also the movie that introduced the world to Melissa McCarthy who steals pretty much every scene (and a few puppies) as the obnoxious and awkward Megan. Many movies have tried to emulate the magic of Bridesmaids (many with some of the same cast) but none have really come close to its secret formula for success.

2. The Karate Kid (1984)

Sweep the leg! That's the iconic line that most people remember from this movie, but it's so much more than that. The Karate Kid is a classic underdog story about overcoming bullies and the benefits of dedication and commitment.

We follow Daniel LaRusso (AKA Daniel-San) who after taking a beating at school, enlists the help of his unconventional sensei Mr Miyagi to learn how to defend himself. The Karate Kid is perhaps a perfect time capsule of the 80s and whether you're up for some nostalgia or just can't believe the haircuts and fashion sense, its 89% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes proves its popularity is more than just rose-tinted glasses.

Netflix also has the two sequels The Karate Kid Part 2 and The Karate Kid Part 3 as well as Cobra Kai, the series set thirty years after the movies that has a massive 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.

3. Pride & Prejudice

This adaptation of Jane Austen's novel might feature the most Keira Knightley performance by Keira Knightley of all time. Expect plenty of longing gazes and quivering lips.

We all know the story, Elizabeth Bennet is under increasing pressure from her family to find herself a nice husband and settle down. Then Mr Darcy walks in. This is a perfect cosy Sunday movie to have a little cry to.

If you love the book or just got way too into Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte and need another period drama, this is a quality production with an 87% critic score and 89% audience score uniting critics and fans.
