The cost of energy bills across Ireland remains one of the main concerns for households as the cost of living crisis continues to ramp up.
This winter, as temperatures drop, the majority of Irish homes will be relying on electricity and fossil fuels to keep their nearest and dearest warm.
However, as a result, the worry around skyrocketing energy bills is increasing and some may be worried about meeting these costs - particularly in the run up to Christmas.

For those who are trying to cope with financial difficulties, Electric Ireland has responded by renewing their Hardship Fund by adding €3 million to the scheme.
The fund was initially brought into effect in March 2021 with €2 Million added to support customers who were having a hard time paying their bills.
The aim of this scheme was to help those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic amid rising energy costs.
However, Electric Ireland now says the fund will open to any of their customers facing “financial difficulties and uncertainty”.
They explained that the fund will continue to operate over the coming winter months and will continue into next year to provide assistance in paying bills.
Customers who are experiencing financial difficulty or having trouble paying their energy bills are asked to call 1800 50 40 21. Alternatively customers can either call MABs or contact their local SVP office to access the fund.
