3 kids, 3 adults killed in Nashville elementary school shooting, 28-year-old attacker also dead

Three children and three adults were killed in a shooting at a Nashville, Tennessee, elementary school Monday morning.

The attacker, identified as a 28-year-old Nashville woman, was killed on the scene at The Covenant School by responding police officers. The woman was a former student at the private Christian school, Nashville police Chief John Drake said.

The young victims were identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney. All three were 9 years old. Adults Cynthia Peak, 61, Katherine Koonce, 60, and Mike Hill, 61, were also killed, Nashville police said. Koonce was the head of the school.
